CF-29H touchscreen prob

Hello,

For the past month I have been fighting with my CF-29.
I find my google searches often have landed me in these forums and im at wits end at fidguring this one out.

Ruffly a year ago my CF-29 broke and i just threw it in the closet for the longest time.
It would boot up to the welcome screen then freeze.
Last month I picked it up and decided to fix it to use for work.
Used the recovery cds that came with it and did full format and reinstall of the os with the MK3 product recovery cds.

Everything booted up and worked flawlessly, except the touchscreen was completely unresponsive.
It had worked before i shelfed the bugger long ago so i find it strange to have just decided to up and die on me.

Ive taken the whole assy appart, cleaned the whole touchscreen and LCD and connections and framing, also have reinstalled with the recovery cds and updated the drivers numerious times with no improvement.

Last night i had reinstalled agin with the recovery cds with the touchpad and touchscreen disabled in the bios.
then left it at the welcome login screen and went to work.
The bat ran dry.
Came back after work and plugged the book in to the wall and started it up.
Enabled both the touchscreen and touchpad.
and tried to test it out agin.

The touchpad worked as allways but strangely the touchscreen was not completely unresponsive.
The X axis was working flawlessly..
would go from left to right.
but as soon as i touch the screen it went straight down to the bottom of the screen.
so the Y axis is goofed somehow..
no matter where i tapped moved or pressed the cursor went straight to the bottom of the screen but accurately did left to right...

So i decided to try and calibrate it.
no good.
i went threw the whole push these 9 points for a half hour and wouldnt finish.
Coursor still goes straight to the botom of the screen.

Then while i was messing with the toughscreen ribbon connection to the controller my bat died on me and the book turned off of course.
and now the touchscreen is completely unresponsive agin.

My touchscreen seems to be ok..
completely sealed no rips on the ribbon.
no debris and thurally cleaned...

So now im back at ground zero unresponsive touchscreen but touchpad works flawlessly.
dont know how to fix it or what to replace.
I would greatly appreceate any guidance, or tips.
I dont know how to pinpoint what i need to replace or if i even need to replace anything.
Ive never dealt with touchscreens until recently, so im a rookie.
And this forum seems to have all the experts for the toughbooks.

my specific toughbook is an CF-29HTQGZBM

any help would be greatly appreceated!
