i7 720QM processor temps

Hi,

whilst gaming my i7 720qm temps go upto 80C degrees.
Is this normal? I'm sometimes gaming for a few hours at a time so I'm a little worried that a temperature like that is going to affect the longevity of the laptop.
also the laptop is only a few months old, and i keep it on a cooler so not to block any vents.
