Notebook to TV

Would like to connect my NC10 Notebook to 46" Samsung LCD tv have tried USB to USB but will not recognise?

Would it display the notebook screen if i use a male to male Vga monitor cable as both have this female connection?

Yes use VGA to VGA or hdmi to hdmi, also you need 3.5mm headphone cord if you want sound. Plug laptop to tv, turn on tv and select pcsource on tv then power up laptop.
