Bumpers on E6500??

I know I'm not the first to have this problem, but one of those crappy lid bumpers that sit on the outside of the speaker grills fell off. I asked to send me a few new ones, since I figured I would have a hard time getting it glued back, at least without making a mess. They said the only way was to replace the whole palmrest...? Has anyone had any luck gluing these things back without them falling off again?
