The G53SWs with SB-i7s should be out an day then. I agree though I'd much rather have my RBBX05, although I don't know for sure, I doubt the i5-2410 could out perform a i7-720qm, especially since it is limited to 4 threads, although it could be better on single threaded apps. If it was slightly cheaper it would be a great mid-range system.

A i5-2410 is marginally faster than a i7-720, but slower than a i7-740. So for all intents and purposes you could say they are equal but one us better at 8 threads and one is better at 4.



This makes the 53SW-BST6 acceptable, but considering $200 more (after adjusting for tax) will get you a G73SW-XA1 with up to 50% more CPU power, it will really depend on what the buyer wants. If you are playing StarCraft 2 an can use a 2630s CPU power, then get the G73SW, if you are playing BFBC2 and the extra CPU power is irrelevant then this laptop is a great deal.

Like I said man, in the $900 dollar range, I think its a bangout deal. Just upgrade the ram to 6-8gb and your ready to rock and roll.



The new sandy bridge I5's aren't bad at all, and for something more portable, I'd rather have it. I may try to catch one on a price drop if i get the money.

Wow, looking forward to the i7 version soon then.



I noticed on this one and the Best Buy G73 that they don't have the rear exhaust. Any idea why this is? I would think it would be to keep the cost down but $1,100 for this isn't cheap.



Probably Best Buy keeping their cost down and increasing profit.

What do you mean they dont have rear exhaust? My g73jh has it, and it came from best buy? I know for a fact that the bst-6/bst-7 have it as well. I am going to go see this computer today and try to get the low down on it.

Wow, stupidest question I ever heard lol no offense. Of course the dual exhaust is still there and the reason you are not seeing it is because of the picture.

The problem I have with best buy watered down versions are the way they subsidize it by removing bluetooth, lowering resolution and removing 2yr warranty and 1 yr accidental and replacing it with the 1yr warranty which you also have with your g73jh BB version.

That was kind of my point. I didn't state it very well. I would rather spend that same 1100 bucks and get my computer. Yes I know there is a size difference.



I sometimes wish I would have gotten a g53, but then again, I love my computer.
